Having lead this company for the past 18 years it is usually this time of year that provides me with a greater opportunity for reflection and express enormous gratitude for our clients who keep me and my team in work, pay our suppliers and expenses and reward us through the results we see them achieve. In this last “What’s Happening” for the year I want to be even more direct. Our relationship with you is usually focused on your organisation and the results we can help you achieve. Sometimes I’m surprised when you are surprised at what we do (did you get all that?). So this newsletter is also to help you understand who we are and our plans for client solutions in 2014 and beyond!
For us here at Happening People we are even more focused on the future as we head towards 20 our years in business. Today my company, Happening People, offers you the best of the best specialists in corporate training. Over the past few years we have moved from generalists to bringing together a team of specialist consultants and the response is excellent!
I think we have always lead the corporate training arena. I’ve made some great decision and some I’ve learnt from - HAHA! Some of the key milestones you may not know about my team’s leadership include:
1996 - We rejected national competencies because the bar was too low, it didn’t allow us to customise outcomes for our clients, we decided to set them.
1999- our website became the 100 most visited website in Australia.
2001 – We launched our own on line tv channel before you tube was born and millions of people watched!
2007 – we shifted to a specialist corporate training solution
2009 - we stopped riding the bus and starting driving it in Asia
2010 – we threw ourselves into social media and engage with 50, 000 people around the world on line
2013 – we launched www.ManagersDoor.com the online portal with unique and immediate resources for people to better lead and manage their business, people and themselves.
Why am I sharing this? If you want a leading company who builds an answer, or a process, understands your context and frames it the right way for results then that’s our culture and our clients will testify to it.
In the early 1990s when I heard people screaming ‘empowerment’ all I saw were people being given new position descriptions. At the time I said it was about enablement. I still do.

Without the support of our clients this year we wouldn’t be here, on our way to celebrating our 20th year in business. It many sound naff to some but I am truly grateful for allowing us to do what we love. Thank you again!
